1/27/26 - 9am Update - Neighborhood streets and local roads are improving but there are still icy patches that can take you by surprise. Hills are especially dangerous if a car loses traction on an icy patch. Officials are warning drivers to stay off the roads through the morning hours.
Bee Cave City Hall, municipal court and the library will open at 1pm today.
If you must get out on the roads, drive slowly and if you start to lose traction, turn into the skid and take your foot off the gas.

1/26/26 - 6:30PM Bee Cave City Hall and city facilities will have a delayed opening at 1pm on Tuesday January 27. This will allow for safer travel for staff driving into work. Please avoid driving on area roadways Monday night and Tuesday morning. Any moisture on roads will refreeze Monday night as temperatures dip into the teens.
1/26/26 - 2:30PM The ice is starting to melt but many area roads remain slick and hazardous. Here is a partial list of roads that are ICY and NOT PASSABLE as of 1/26/26 AM. Remember, not all roads are in the same condition. Just because you see clear roads on the eastern side of the county does not mean the roads on the west side are safe to drive on.
This is not a comprehensive list so avoid driving today if you can.
ICY and NOT PASSABLE as of 1/26/26 AM
Steiner Ranch Blvd
Quinlan Park Rd
Southwest Parkway
Bee Creek
Cuernavaca Dr.

1/25/26 12pm: Icy road conditions and continued below-freezing temperatures are expected Monday January 26. All Bee Cave facilities will be closed Monday but we anticipate re-opening on Tuesday January 27. Stay home, stay safe.
1/25/26 Morning Road Update
Vail Divide is covered in a layer of ice and sleet. These hazardous conditions are widespread throughout our area.
The temperature will stay well below freezing throughout the day and since there’s no sunshine to melt the ice, the roads will stay slippery.
Please stay home today if you can. Not everyone has a choice so it’s up to us to do our part to reduce accidents.
The Bee Cave Road Crew is out sanding bridges and overpasses to add some traction and help prevent slipping. But, not all roadways can be sanded.
These city workers have been up all night monitoring conditions, loading supplies, setting up equipment and carefully applying sand where it’s needed most.
Thank you for your service Bee Cave Parks and Facilities.
1/24/26 Update 9:30pm: The bridge on Vail Divide near Hamilton Pool Rd is covered with a layer of sleet/snow. This is expected to occur on bridges and overpasses throughout our area during the night and into Sunday morning. Stay off the roads if you can. This will help first responders and road crews as they work through the night.
1/24/26 Update 5:30pm: Bee Cave roads are starting to get slippery with freezing drizzle. Roads will likely be icy within the next hour or two if this persists. Officials are asking people to head home and stay off the roads tonight and into Sunday morning.
1/24/26 Update 2pm: Temperatures have dropped below freezing in Bee Cave. The Austin area is now under an Ice Storm Warning until Sunday 1/25 at 12pm. Ice accumulations of 1/4 inch or 1/2 inch are possible overnight. While the roads are not currently icy, conditions will change dramatically overnight. Please stay off the roads tonight if you are able.
1/24/26 Update 10am: Roads in the Austin area are wet but not icy. The Bee Cave Library is closed today. Temperatures are dropping and freezing temperatures are expected by 7pm. Overnight, freezing rain and ice accumulation is possible.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Bee Cave area from January 21, 2026 until January 25, 2026.
Light to moderate accumulations of mainly ice and sleet are likely across the region late Friday night through Sunday morning. In addition, dangerously cold temperatures are expected Saturday night through Monday morning.
Roads, especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Ice accumulation on power lines and tree limbs may cause power outages. Extreme cold will become life threatening and likely damage unprotected pipes and put animals left outdoors at serious risk.
Winter Preparedness
Here are some steps to prepare and protect the 4 P’s:
People: Check on family and neighbors who may need help. Dress in layers if you must go outdoors and limit time outside.
Pets: Keep pets warm, dry and indoors.
Pipes: Open cabinet doors to let warm air circulate around pipes, let indoor faucets drip, and cover exposed pipes and outdoor spigots with insulation.
Plants: Bring plants inside or cover to protect

Weather Alerts
The City provides Bee Cave -specific emergency alerts through a service called Voyent. Everyone can sign up to get alerts via app notifications, e-mail or voice message. Please note that to get geographically targeted messages to neighborhoods or places of work, individuals must set their location for Voyent alerts to a specific address. If it is set only for Bee Cave in general, it will default to Bee Cave City Hall. This may cause individuals not to get targeted messages to their precise neighborhood or place of work. To ensure the accuracy of the style and location preference, please visit Voyent's login page to create an account.
